Mentorship

The aim of YAA’s Mentorship Scheme is to enhance young people’s capacity to efficiently utilize opportunities available to them. One of YAA’s activities under this is integrating student leadership development initiatives in universities and other institutions of higher learning. To this end, YAA in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) facilitated a debate on student leadership. This targeted students vying for positions in the Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU). This is a first of its kind in Kenyan universities and through such debates, YAA aims at mentoring these student leaders and therefore inculcating values of good and transformative leadership in students so as to prepare them for leadership after school. This will in turn bring the much needed reforms to the leadership of the country.
