Democracy and Governance

The programme aims to significantly contribute to the empowerment of citizens for informed participation in governance, democratic and development process in the country. It seeks to increase youth participation through leadership in governance and constitutional structure.

Specific Objectives

  1. To increase community awareness on rights and laws affecting the role, responsibilities and obligations of youth in development and governance.

  2. To integrate and main-stream gender in the implementation all governance and development programmes

  3. Increased participation of young people in governance, development and the new constitutional structure.

To increase understanding and participation of economic, social, political, cultural and civil rights issues by young people

A Constitution for the Youth
Young people have been at the forefront in steeringthe constitution process- from mass action in the mind 1990's to Bomas, through Kilifi to Naivasha, back to Delta House and finally overwhelmingly campaigning and voting for the new constitution in the referendum.
